Delivery FAQ’s

We are very excited to expand the long awaited Extraordinary experience to our fans in the north county area. While we are in the early stages of this new service we are able to accommodate :

  • Lead time of up to 20 days in advance
  • 5 Delivery reservations / day
  • Thursday- Friday between the hours of 10am -1pm
* Thursday delivery to enjoy your dessert on Friday
or Friday delivery for your Saturday or Sunday celebration

How It Works:

  1. Order Placement Visit our online ordering platform ORDER NOW and select the “Delivery” option.                                                                                                Choose your desired delivery day (Thursday or Friday), select your preferred time (10AM -1PM), and enter the delivery destination.                                            Select your desired Extraordinary Cake and any extras (order minimum is $80, excluding the delivery fee).
  2. Confirmation: A member of our management team will contact you the week of your delivery to confirm your order details and delivery window.
  3. Delivery: On the day of delivery, our driver will notify you 15-20 minutes prior to arrival. Ensure someone is present to receive the delivery.
Our order minimum is $80 *excludes delivery fee.
Once this amount is reached in your shopping cart the delivery fee of $25 will automatically be applied to your cart.

Once you have selected a cake size and have chosen a flavor you will see the section “would you like to add decor?”. Select the option “decor”.

A drop down menu will appear with our two additional decor options:

A written message only- Your greeting written in chocolate and gold on an edible marzipan placard *contains almond  (25 character max).

After selecting this option, please include your greeting in the special instructions box provided below.

Premium Decor- A pair of roses arranged on top of your cake with the optional written message on marzipan (25 character max).

At this time we are able to accommodate up to five deliveries per day Thursday and Friday between the hours of 10am and 1pm.
*Availability may be subject to change due to holidays and special events

At the time of ordering you may select a desired arrival at the time.

A member of our management team will contact you the week of your delivery to confirm your order and delivery time window. ( within 1 hour of your requested time)
For example: If you requested arrival at 11am, your order window would be between 10:30am-11:30am

You can currently reserve up to 20 days in advance.
Our delivery days are Thursday – Friday and time slots are limited to availability and subject to adjustment based upon our delivery route.
A manager will contact you by phone to confirm your order details the week of your delivery.

The day of your scheduled delivery

Our driver will call / text message 15-20 minutes prior to arrival.

The recipient of the order must be  present to receive the delivery. 

Recipients receiving an alcoholic beverage with their order must be 21+ and ready to verify age with a valid State ID.

A member of our management team will contact you to confirm your estimated delivery window and any special delivery instructions the driver may need to be aware of (security gate, room# , etc.)  

If the front desk or concierge will be receiving you order on your behalf, it is advised  that you coordinate with the concierge/ front desk to ensure that your cake is is delivered to the appropriate destination (kitchen, room #..) and that your order is properly handled and refrigerated upon arrival.

Please note that we are not liable for any damages, stolen orders or quality issues as a result of the recipient not being present to receive the order.

The customer is responsible for checking their confirmation of order email at the time of placing their order.

The other opportunity to confirm will be at the time you are contacted by a member of our management team. 

We will verify this information again with you to ensure accuracy.

They  will confirm your estimated delivery window and any special delivery instructions the driver may need to be aware of (security gate, room# , etc.)  

Corrections can also be made to the delivery destination if they remain within our current delivery parameters. the week of your delivery to confirm your order and time window for arrival.

Additionally, Extraordinary Desserts is not responsible for refunds or replacements of orders with incomplete, invalid, incorrect addresses or recipients who are unable to accept the delivery order.

 We are not able to re-deliver once we have left the route area.

While we are in the early stages of this new service we are able to accommodate :

  • Order minimum of $80 must be reached to qualify for delivery. This excludes the $25 delivery fee which will automatically be applied at checkout.
  • 5 Delivery reservations / day
  • Time slots are limited to availability and subject to adjustment based upon our delivery route. Thursday- Friday between the hours of 10 am – 1 pm.

Dates that are fully booked will note 12AM as the only optional time for pickup. This indicates that this date is not available.

1- Place your order from our online ordering platform ORDER NOW and toggle the from the option CARRY OUT to  DELIVERY

  • Enter the day you would like your order delivered (Thursday or Friday)
  • Select your desired time of delivery 
  • Enter the delivery destination

* You will be notified at that time if the delivery destination falls outside our delivery range. Our delivery ranges  are set for the Del Mar and Rancho Santa Fe area.

2- Provide any special delivery instructions you may have for the driver such as security gate, room or suite #

* You may edit this information before check out. A member of our management team will also contact you the week of your delivery by phone to confirm your scheduled delivery arrival time window and order details.

3-Select your cake size, flavor, optional customization and other sweet add ons.

4- Review your order at checkout carefully to ensure contact information, delivery instructions and details of your order are accurate.

5-Enter your payment information. 

*Please ensure that your billing address matches the address associated with your credit card.

6- You will receive your online order confirmation at the e-mail address provided at check out.

7- A member of our Management team will contact you within the week of your Delivery to confirm your delivery window time, and any additional details the driver may need to be aware of the day of your delivery.

8- On the day of delivery you will be contacted by phone or text message 15-20 minutes prior to arrival that your order is on the way.

9- Your order will arrive at its destination for you or your recipient to ENJOY!

We have created delivery ranges to ensure manageable delivery and ease of accessibility for timely delivery. We look forward to expanding our delivery service. Our delivery service is intended for smaller birthday parties and get-togethers of a few cakes  and specifically not for weddings or other private parties, as those can already be properly organized and delivered through our website. 

Those bigger events require proper set up and presentation that represent our trademark brand quality and excellence.

The cake design will arrive as  it is shown online with the exception of florals which are subject to current availability and quality from our local vendors.

Guests with common food allergies or sensitivities must be advised that we are not an allergen free facility. Our products are all made in the same facility where cross contact is a risk and our products should be avoided by those with severe allergies.

All ingredients are not listed on our menus.

Our cakes are made of whipped cream, mousses and other delicious ingredients that do require refrigeration. We recommend that you keep your cake refrigerated up to 30 minutes prior to service.

When storing your cake,please ensure that the cake box is fully covered with the bag provided, or you may seal the opening of the box with saran wrap to maintain freshness and to prevent other food odors from absorbing into your cake.

How long will they last?

When properly stored after arrival we recommend that you enjoy your cake within 2 days for best quality and freshness.

Please ensure that your cart items have reached our $80 minimum excluding the delivery fee. 

The delivery fee of $25 will automatically be applied once the $80 minimum for your order has been reached.

If you have not reached the minimum we have several add ons on our menu that may help you reach this minimum.

If your order meets or exceeds this $80 minimum and you are unable to check out,  please contact us for assistance at: delivery@extraordinarydesserts.com  or 619-294-2132 and speak with one of our Managers on duty for assistance.

Please ensure that the billing address provided is the one associated with your credit card. P.O box addresses are not a valid billing address. 

Please note, if there was a failed attempt using your credit card at check out with an incorrect billing address, you may see an authorization charge for each failed attempt. 

These authorization charges and timing of processing this authorization as VOID/ incomplete is subject to your banking institutions practices which may take up to 4-5 business days.. 

Extraordinary Desserts and our online ordering system is unable to assist with expediting resolution of pending authorization charges.

YES! If you have an e-gift certificate or card from Extraordinary Desserts you may enter in the card number and pin associated at the time of check out. 

Please note the gift card must be one issued by HEARTLAND. 

This can be identified on the back of the card. 

For assistance with an older version of our gift cards prior to 2021 (By Synergy)  please contact Delivery@ExtraordinaryDesserts.com  with a photo of your gift card front and back. 

If the driver is still within the area there may be an opportunity to re-attempt delivery.

If the driver has already left the delivery area, re-delivery may not be possible. 

In order to preserve the quality of your cake/ dessert, your order would be returned to our restaurant and can be held up until the following day for pick up. 

Additionally, we are not responsible for deliveries sent to recipients who are not available to accept the delivery.Please note that we are not liable for any damages, or quality issues as a result of the recipient not being present to receive the order within their designated delivery window. This also does not qualify for a refund or store credit.

Delays such as unanticipated traffic, and road closures may affect arrival times, however our drivers will be in communication with you if such delays occur. Our goal is to deliver your order quickly and safely to its final destination. 

Should a situation occur where your order arrived exceedingly late, a member of our management team will contact you.

We understand last minute changes can occur.

 In the event that you need to cancel your delivery order we want to ensure opportunity for other guests to book the available delivery slot, driver scheduling,  as well as conserve our resources to create your anticipated order. 

We require the following advance notice for cancellations and conditions regarding refund eligibility:

  • Cancellations communicated 2 days prior to your booked delivery date are eligible for a full refund including delivery fee.
  • Cancellations communicated before 1pm  (PST) the day prior to your booked delivery date are eligible for a refund of the order excluding delivery fees.
  • Day of cancellations are non- refundable and non transferrable including delivery fees..

Your order will be available to you to pick up in store at our Banker’s Hill location through the following day. 

As part of quality control, all orders are shown to the recipient upon arrival to ensure the order is to presentation standards.

In the event that your order arrived damaged during transport upon inspection with your driver or were found to be defected in some way during the assembly process We will work to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.

Please share the following pictures within 2 days of delivery: 

  • A photo of the area of concern
  • Two full shots of the product (from the side and overhead)
  • A shot of the packaging/box
